About Chris Samuel Chris has been involved in singing professionally since 2003. A 20 year career in Advertising took up most of his time until he returned to his native Wiltshire in 2000. Having more time to nurture his music, he began singing and playing in local folk clubs and joined a community choir. Successfully auditioning for Naked Voicesin 2003 he continued his musical journey and performed with the band at theatres and arts centres all over the country including three sell-out runs at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival and a stint at the Prague Fringe Festival. He now sings with 5 piece a cappella band The Barefooters and also tours with The Spooky Men's Chorale when they visit the UK. Through Naked Voices, he got involved in teaching workshops and got such a buzz from seeing people thrill to the joys of harmony singing that it started to take over his life. By the time he decided to take the plunge in 2006 and try and make a full-time living from singing, he was already running two choirs, and was a veteran of dozens of Naked Voices workshops. Since then he has started another three community choirs in Wiltshire as well as co-leading one of Bristol's largest choirs and has most recently started VoxBox Rocks who get to sing rock, funk and soul numbers with a live band. After a successful Sing like a Bloke Workshop for Ashton Keynes Music Festival in 2008, he's most recently started teaching an all blokes group -The Magnificent AK 47s which meets every six weeks or so on a Sunday and oils the vocal cords with beer rather than water. He is a member of the Natural Voice Practitioner's Network and shares their belief that singing is everyone's birthright and is committed to a teaching style that is accepting and inclusive of all, regardless of musical experience and ability.
